Pointer On A Leash Going For A Walk

LIFE SKILLS

&

SPECIALTY

CLASSES

Do you want a well-mannered dog?   Having a dog who walks politely on the leash, comes when called, and doesn’t do things that annoy other people makes life more enjoyable for you both.

Life Skills:

For Graduates of Puppy Kindergarten and new puppies and dogs 5 months old and up.

Life Skills are what help your puppy or dog “fit in” to the human world, in other words, to be regarded as polite or well-behaved.  Through the use of rewards, your dog will learn to pay attention to you and to perform the basic foundation behaviours such as Sit, Down, Stand, Stay, Come, Leash manners, Leave it/Drop it, Go to your mat, and more.  Although this class builds on the skills learned in Puppy Start Right Preschool and Puppy Kindergarten, we tailor it to the ability of each pup or dog so newcomers will feel welcome as well.

Tricks for Treats:

For graduates of Life Skills and new dogs 6 months old and up.

Doing fun things with our dogs can enhance our relationship with them; gives us something to do with them besides basic training; and, hey, is just FUN!  In this Tricks class, you will use rewards to teach your dog new behaviours, some that will serve you well in other contexts (such as at the vet and cleaning up around the house) and others that you can use to impress your friends at parties!  Shake a paw, Spin, Twirl, Bang! are just a few of the tricks you will learn.
